In this workshop, Dr. Dweck will delve more deeply into mindsets,
showing how a fixed mindset can cause motivation and confidence to
be fragile and how it can lead to defensiveness and discouragement in
the face of challenges. She will also show how a growth mindset can
lead to confidence and perseverance even in the absence of current
expertise. And she will show how these mindsets play out in all areas
of life from school and work to personal relationships and parenting.
With this in mind, she will lead a series of discussions and exercises
that teach people:
to recognize the mindset that they and those around them hold
to understand fixed vs. growth mindset approaches to specific,
key life situations
to replace their fixed mindset thought and action patterns with
growth mindset ones
to use language and feedback in a way that encourages a growth
mindset in those around them
