Meditating your way to release from addictive habits
Saturday 20 November 2010, 9:00 – 12:00
Ven Dr Chönyi Taylor
Ven Dr Chönyi Taylor (Ven Tenzin Chönyi, Dr Diana Taylor) is a retired psychotherapist, an authorized teacher of Tibetan Buddhism, and a coordinator for the AABCAP professional training course.
Addiction does not refer to just drugs and alcohol. We are all caught
up in addictions one way or another, big or small, that sabotage our
potential for true and lasting happiness. In fact a deep addiction to the
particular way in which we see our world is said by Buddha to be the
root of all our suffering.
In this workshop Ven Dr Chönyi Taylor engagingly presents a practical
path that can release us from the grip of negative habits and the
addictions that block a full and meaningful life. By following a graduated
sequence of meditations workshop participants will be led into a
progressively deeper understanding of how the mind can be used
and how this relates to addiction. As you do the meditations, you will
experience this graduated path and access invaluable insights about
how the mind works.
