Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors

ASORC is the peak professional body representing rehabilitation counsellors throughout Australia. ASORC was established in the early 1970's to provide support and representation to all its members in every state and territory. Rehabilitation counsellors are committed to facilitating the personal, social and economic independence of individuals with disabilities. In fulfilling this commitment, Rehabilitation counsellors work with people, programs, institutions and service delivery systems. ASORC identifies and advocates opportunities to expand the role of Rehabilitation counsellors as allied health professionals to meet societal changes and demands. ASORC also provides strong support to all new members through a rigorous program of supervision and accountability, to ensure that all full members of the society have the ability to undertake the work entrusted to them.
